MAKEEN and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Sign License Agreement to Manufacture HiMSEN Dual Fuel Engines in Saudi Arabia
In a significant step to strengthen industrial capabilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Engines Manufacturing Company (MAKEEN), a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Dussur and the first manufacturer of its kind in the MENA region, and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries have signed a license agreement for the local production of HiMSEN dual-fuel engines.
The signing ceremony took place on July 25, 2024, in Zurich, Switzerland. The agreement was signed by Mr. Sangkee Rhee, Executive Vice President of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Mr. Bader Abdullah Al-Zoabi, Chief Executive Officer of MAKEEN.
Under the terms of the agreement, MAKEEN will manufacture HD Hyundai’s advanced HiMSEN dual fuel engines at its state-of-the-art facility in Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia. This strategic partnership will strengthen MAKEEN’s position in the engine manufacturing sector by offering its customers the latest technologies that deliver consistent performance, easy maintenance, environmental friendliness, and higher efficiency.
